Celebrating Two Paintings Finding their new homes: A Slice of Heaven and Love is Blue
It's always a special moment when my artwork finds a new home. Today, I'm excited to share the stories behind two of my paintings that have recently been welcomed into new spaces.
A Slice of Heaven
This 24"x24" soft pastel on canvas captures a moment of pure tranquility. Created with layers of delicate soft pastel, "A Slice of Heaven" emerged from my desire to translate the feeling of perfect southern lowcountry peace into visual form.
The soft color palette evokes the gentle transition of daylight to dusk, that magical moment when the world seems to pause and take a breath. I worked to create depth through subtle color variations, allowing the viewer to feel as though they could step into this peaceful scene.
I'm thrilled that this piece has found a home where its calming presence can be enjoyed daily. There's something deeply satisfying about knowing my work will bring moments of serenity to someone's life.
Love is Blue
This intimate 9"x12" oil on canvas explores the emotional landscape of love through color and texture. The title "Love is Blue" reflects not sadness, but the depth and complexity of love's many facets.
When creating this piece, I focused on building rich layers of blue tones, allowing the paint to create both harmony and contrast. The smaller scale invites viewers to come closer, to develop a personal relationship with the painting.
I'm delighted that "Love is Blue" has connected with someone who appreciates its emotional resonance. Art creates such a unique bond between artist and collector - a shared appreciation for beauty and meaning that transcends words.
Thank you to the collectors who have welcomed these pieces into their lives. Each painting carries a piece of my artistic journey, and it's an honor to share that with others. Stay tuned for new works coming soon to my collection!
